Our First Spanish Resource Has Arrived!
In order to bring our resources to a larger audience, Accepting the Gift has worked with a native Spanish speaker in our diocese to produce a Spanish language version of our popular Advocacy Toolkit. Like our English version, this resource is completely free and available to download from our Shop. It teaches:
- What the Church teaches about disability
- How to approach and work with your pastor and DRE when asking for accommodations
- How to dialogue with other parishioners
- And it includes templates that outline everything you need to say to start those conversations in person or online.
If you work in a parish with Spanish speakers, you owe it to those families to provide resources and support for those among them with disabled family members. So many parishes and dioceses don’t offer materials for English speaking special needs families; you’d better believe it’s tough for families speaking other languages to find support!
